Collection: Mestur

Mastur is a collection created from Kâmûs-ı Türkî, the Ottoman Turkish dictionary by Şemseddin Sami. From each page, I select a word and bring it back into the present through ink, color, and calligraphy.

The title Mastur reflects the idea of words that are both hidden and written—forgotten fragments of language given a new visual life.
