Esfâr opens in two directions. In Şemseddin Sami’s dictionary, sefer means a journey, while sifr means a written book or volume — and both take the plural esfâr.

The same written form can therefore gather voyages and books: distances crossed by the body, and distances crossed through text.

In the Mestûr collection, words from Şemseddin Sami’s Kâmus-ı Türkî reappear as singular artworks on their own historic pages, carrying language, memory, and gesture into the present.
