Ustuhan

Ustuhan is the bone beneath the visible body — the structure that remains hidden while giving the body its form.

A hidden structure is what allows a visible form to stand, just as an old page carries beneath the artwork the memory of another language.

In the Mestûr collection, words from Şemseddin Sami’s Kâmus-ı Türkî reappear as singular artworks on their own historic pages, carrying language, memory, and gesture into the present.
