Ustuvâr, a Persian word, means firm, solid, strong — something that holds. Sami gathers the senses sağlam, metîn, muhkem and kavî around it.
Written across a fragile dictionary page that has survived more than a century, the word becomes almost physical: strength does not always mean hardness; sometimes it means remaining.
In the Mestûr collection, words from Şemseddin Sami’s Kâmus-ı Türkî reappear as singular artworks on their own historic pages, carrying language, memory, and gesture into the present.
